How To: Tags Management within Pipeline and Insights

Tags can be created anywhere there is a multi select tag input that allows creation. When you apply a tag, it copies the fields so if you change a tag, wherever you’ve applied it does not update.

Note: Tags are not regressive in nature. If a tag is applied after the pipeline has already run multiple times, tag data will ONLY apply for future runs. Prior log data will not be associated with the tag. The same applies if the tag is removed. Data with the tag already associated is not changed in any way.

Pipeline

Pipeline Tags are used for analytics and data archiving purposes. Applying tags at a pipeline level will associate the tag with the specific step in this pipeline allowing for more targeted analytics and insights.

To set tags on a pipeline level, add them in the Summary tab.

To view or edit tags, select the pencil icon (✎) in the Tag field.

Apply tags here. The tags applied at this level will be associated with pipeline’s activity logs, starting from the point they have been applied. If the pipeline has already run, any preceding logs will not apply the tag.

To apply a tag to only a pipeline step, the tag must be applied during the Step Setup process when Step Name and Tool are chosen. Select the pencil icon (✎) in the Un-configured step to view Step Setup:

Add the tag:

Save and continue to configure the step.

You can now view logs from the associated tag and pipeline step when tag is applied.

Tools

Tool Tags - Applying tags at this level will associate the tag with any scenarios in which the tool is used and run in the pipeline for more targeted analytics and insights.
