How To: Create & Manage Tags
Tags can be used to slice and dice results and use them as filters to view appropriate reports in Opsera Insights. Every organization is expected to understand and plan how to design tags that will be easy for them to adapt to, and get the appropriate results as expected.
Tags are flexible enough to be used however a user wants to use them. Organizations' way of setting up pipelines, selecting list of tools, deploying to different environments will vary, hence each user is expected to have some basic understanding on how each tag works, and plan on how they want to define their tags before using them. The main caveat with tags is that, they associate to pipelines/data from the point of configuration, and does not retroactively apply to historic executions/scenarios/selections.
Opsera supports different types of tags.

Section 1 : Create Tags
Section 2 : Create an Organization Tag
Section 3 : Manage Tags
Section 4 : Apply Tags
Â
Section 1 : Create Tags
Login to Opsera Portal and navigate to Settings → Tags.
Click on ‘+New Tag’.
The drop down list shows the types of tags Opsera supports.
Select one from the list, and provide a value.
Users can view the usage report for each tag that is created through the Tag Management space. For instance, the tag below is applied to a pipeline, and users have the option to redirect themselves to the pipeline.
Â
Section 2 : Create an Organization Tag
In order to save time and effort configuring multiple tags in multiple locations, users may use Organization tags.
Organization tags act one level up, and allows users to logically or categorically group a set of tags and apply them to a specific organization.
The organization can act as a team of users, group of applications, group of projects, or group of environments.
Only Power Users will be able to create and manage Organization Tags.
Once logged in to Portal, navigate to Settings → Organization.
Click on ‘+New Organization’
In the example above,
Name : unique name to the Organization tag
Leader : User who is the owner of the organization
Tags : List of different tags created as shown in Section 1.
Â
Section 3: Manage Tags
If you are a Power User, you will be able to manage tags by changing name or type of the tag.
Editing Type or Value on a Tag does not updating existing applications of the tag. If you edit these, you will need to reapply the Tag to any place it is being used for the changes to take effect.
In the list of tags, click on the tag you wish to edit.
Click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the internal panel.
Make the appropriate changes and click ‘Save’. From that point onward, whichever pipeline runs, or task gets executed, it will be associating to the new changes.
Â
Section 4 : Apply Tags
There are different scenarios where a user can apply a tag in Opsera Portal.
Pipelines
Tasks
